Hill Rom Birthing Bed
This automatic bed helps the patient change positions on their own. Birthing bars enhance comfortable positions of the mother and the bed position quickly assisting physicians with difficult deliveries. The addition of this bed brings the total number of birthing beds to four within the department.
Mobile Telemetry for Newborn Babies
Telemetry allows higher risk labour patients to be waling around (which assists with labour) throughout their labour instead of being restricted to their bed for fetal monitoring.
Vital Signs Monitor (Infant)
This portable unit has technology which can determine an infant’s heart rate, oxygen saturation, respiration and blood pressure to help with the diagnosis of any abnormal newborn conditions. It also prints out the infants’ vital signs which helps reduce the amount of charting required by the nursing staff.
2 Infant Bassinettes
The new models have drop down sides, which make it easier for mothers who have had caesareans to care for their newborns, because infants are easier to lift and place back into the bassinette.
Newborn Resuscitation Warmer
These new tables are compact, well organized and have new technology. They have drop down sides that allow for easy access to the newborn and they also adjust to the user’s height making them more ergonomic.
Phototherapy Lights
Compact and easy to operate, this new unit allows for single or double phototherapy of a newborn, meaning nurses have less equipment to move when phototherapy is required.
Pulse Oximeter
These are used daily on all patients from newborns to adults and are always in great demand, so having an additional oximeter serves our staff and patients more efficiently.
PCA Pump for Epidurals
The epidural rate at the Lloydminster Hospital is growing and there were not enough PCA pumps.
Hill Rom Stretcher
An electric stretcher that is easy to push (can be pushed by just one nurse), and patients can raise and lower the head or foot section of the stretcher themselves for greater comfort.
Breast Pump
The new breast pump is on a roll around stand, making it portable and easy to use.
Delivery Forceps
Additional forceps were required to keep up with the increased number of deliveries the department was experiencing.
Medication Cart
Increased safety features make this new piece of equipment more user friendly for nursing staff.
