Cardiac monitors (4 Units)
These new units will completely update the monitoring of vital signs in our emergency department. They will allow us to hook up patients to a single monitor rather than four individual monitors, or five if a patient were to need intubation.
A monitor will also be installed at the nurses’ station to allow for a comprehensive overview and monitoring alarm system at that location. Also, during very busy times, a nurse can easily view the patient’s vitals from outside the room without disturbing the patient.
The smaller of these monitors can be put on a roving stand to move with the patient. This is excellent when a patient may need to visit the medical imaging department or be transported to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
Trauma Stretcher
This is a specialized stretcher that is used for those true trauma patients that should not or cannot be moved because of serious injury. Right now doctors and nurses must physically adjust patients to put a cartridge underneath them for x-rays. These new stretchers are designed to place the
x-ray cartridge directly under the stretcher for use with the portable x-ray machine. This allows trauma patients to remain stationary, rather than be manipulated to receive these essential treatments.
Med Cart
All drugs should be easily accessible for patients in time of need. As the department continues to grow, the ease of accessing this kind of equipment becomes more critical. A central repository for meds with a lock-up for narcotics is essential. The ability to easily move the cart during an emergency is essential.
