3rd Annual Re/Max Pancake Breakfast a Huge Success!
As part of the CPCA Chuckwagon festivities, the team at Re/Max Lloydminster hosts a “Welcome Breakfast” for the community of Lloydminster. A delicious breakfast of sausages, eggs, pancakes, and fresh Tim Horton’s coffee are available, all for a donation to the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation’s Mammography project. Guests are encouraged to wear pink in support of breast cancer awareness. This year’s event raised over $1,400, a brand new record for the Re/Max team. 7th Annual Leckie & Associates Charity Golf Tournament Shatters Fundraising Records!
This year’s Leckie & Associates Charity Golf Tournament was hosted on Tuesday, August 17, 2010. For the first time in Leckie golf history, they enjoyed a full tournament (144 golfers), and record-breaking proceeds of over $32,200! Proceeds were donated to the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, where they will be invested in the brand new Track Lifting System at the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre. Thank you to all the sponsors, donors, golfers, prize contributors, and to the team at Leckie & Associates for their fantastic generosity!

Lloydminster Ladies Charity Open Golf Tournament
Despite cool temperatures the week before, on Saturday, June 12, 2010 the sun was shining brightly as the Lloydminster Ladies Golf Club hosted their 3rd annual Ladies Charity Open. Proceeds of the event were donated to the Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, where they will used as part of the Heart Health Initiative for Lloydminster Hospital. Through a sea of red, support came through, with the tournament raising $10,786.75! Thank you to all the lady golfers, the Ladies Golf Club executive, the staff at the Lloydminster Golf and Country Club, and all sponsors and donors. Your generosity makes such a difference in our community!

Manitou Creative Quilters Invest in Local Health Care
The Manitou Creative Quilters recently hosted their Gala Fundraiser, and donated the proceeds of this wonderful event to the Health Foundation. The donation will be used to purchase high-tech equipment for the Scopes Department at Lloydminster Hospital. Thank you to the entire group of Manitou Creative Quilters! Local Lady Cares for her Community
Lloydminster resident Mrs. Jessie Olsen recently made a contribution to LRHF’s Heart Health Initiative and to the Jubilee Home. Mrs. Olsen says, “I wanted to support these community projects because they are important to me. Also, I may need the care one day, so I want to do my part” Thank you for your gift Mrs. Olsen!

Women Helping Woman A Resounding Success!
This past April, the Scrapbook Cottage held it’s 2nd annual “Women Helping Women” pink pajama night in conjunction with the Annual Spring Scrapbooking Retreat. Scrapbook Cottage owner Louise Hnatiuk wanted to bring women together and make a difference for our community. Devon Canada’s “Investing in People” Grant Makes a Big Difference to LRHF!
Lloydminster Region Health Foundation recently received a $5,000 grant from Devon Canada’s “Investing in People” Grant program. The program is designed to fund initiatives focused on recruiting and retaining employees in the non-profit sector.

Healthcare Auxiliary Sunrise Quilt Raffle a Tremendous Success!
On January 11, 2010, the Lloydminster Healthcare Auxiliary hosted their Sunrise Quilt Raffle draw at the Community Health Services building. The Sunrise Quilt, created and donated by Auxiliary member Stacia Walsh, was featured as the Grand Prize for this raffle. The Auxilians sold every single raffle ticket, and raised $4,382.19 for patient comforts and care in the Lloydminster Hospital. The Poke Chest
The Lori Craven Memorial Ball Tournament was hosted again this year, with a portion of the proceeds going toward “Poke Chests” for the Emergency Department and 3rd Floor of Lloydminster Hospital. The “Poke Chests” are filled with toys and games. When a child receives a “poke”, or needle, in Lloydminster Hospital, they can select a toy from the Poke Chest. Pink Friday Fundraiser Makes it Big for Mammography!
This summer, in conjunction with the CPCA Chuck wagon Races event, the Lloydminster Exhibition Association decided to host “Pink Friday”- a fundraiser for Lloydminster Region Health Foundation’s mammography fundraising campaign. Selling pink bandanas to a rain-soaked yet enthusiastic crowd, the team of volunteers and staff were able to raise $1,066 for our local mammography program. A huge thank you to all the volunteers, staff, and supporters! You helped make “Pink Friday” a tremendous success, and are helping women across our region! |

The Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre Coffee Nook is Celebrated!
Monday, September 21, 2009 marked the unveiling celebration of the brand new Coffee Nook at Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre. This community project was made possible through the hard work, dedication, and generosity of several community partners. The Coffee Nook will be enjoyed by residents of the Dr. Cooke Extended Care Centre and their families and friends, and will provide a comfortable, plush, and beautiful place to enjoy a cup of coffee, visit, or relax. Support for local health care is ‘Etched in Ice’, thanks to Common Wealth Centre!
Joel Turcotte, Program Director with the Common Wealth Centre, is thrilled at the success of this year’s Etched in Ice program. LRHF “Leaves” were sold to Common Wealth Centre patrons, and could be named in honour of families, children, or loved ones. The leaves were then frozen into the public skating surface, where they will be viewed by the general public for the rest of the skating year. Thank you to Common Wealth Centre. Lloydminster Lions Club Gives Generously to the Pediatric Diabetes Fund
The Lloydminster Lions Club recently donated $4,000 to the Pediatric Diabetes Fund. Funds were raised through the Can-Tabs program and the Border Bike Rally. MJ1 Memorial Golf Tournament Celebrates 5 Strong Years of Making a Difference to Local Health Care
The MJ1 Memorial Golf Tournament, hosted in memory of Mr. Merle James, was another resounding success. This year marked the 5th and final year for the tournament, which has raised over $20,000 for local health care over the past five years. ReMax Does it Again! Pancake Breakfast a Huge Fundraising Success for Mammography!
Fluffy pancakes, sizzling sausages, and scrambled eggs were the breakfast of champions at this year’s second annual ReMax Pancake Breakfast. The fundraiser breakfast selected Lloydminster Region Health Foundation as the charity of choice for this year’s breakfast, and once again, donations were accepted for the brand new Mammography program in Lloydminster Hospital. Through the community’s generosity, over $1,600 was raised for Mammography. Thank you ReMax! Your support is so appreciated! |

Royal Canadian Legion Branch #39 donation
Lucy Wallace, President of Branch #39 Royal Canadian Legion, along with Karen-Anne Hemmingway, Poppy Chairperson #39 Royal Canadian Legion, present Penny Manners, Development Manager with Lloydminster Region Health Foundation, with a very generous gift. This gift will be used to purchase special equipment for the Transition Unit, located on the second floor of Lloydminster Hospital. The Transition Unit is a very important area of Lloydminster Hospital, as patients spent time recovering from surgery and other procedures in this area before returning to their homes.
